The HOPE (Higher Opportunity Program for Education) is a student-initiated project founded by the Vietnamese Student Union funded by the UCLA Student Initiated Outreach Committee in 1999. HOPE promotes accesss to higher education for high school students, particularly those at an education disadvantage. HOPE serves Westminster High every Tuesday and Fridays, from 1 to 5 pm in Room H-3.
MERITS
The MERITS (Math Education Resources Integrated with Technology and Science) program provides advanced learning experiences to talented high school students through the integration of math, science, and technology coupled with support by business professionals and university faculty. MERITS will prepare students for higher education and/or career placement. Tutoring and summer enrichment experiences are offered through the program.

PELL (Program for English Language Learners)

The goal of Westminster High School's ELL program is to enable English Language Learners (ELL) to meet the standards of literacy in English as outlined by the States of California. The students must acquire the ability to understand, speak, read and write in English at a level comparable to their English-speaking peers. English Language Development (ELD) is required course for all ELL students until they are reclassified as Fluent English Proficient (RFEP).

Project Outreach
Project Outreach provides services to homeless/transitional youth ad their families above and beyond those given through school site services and Title I. A liaison, an assistant, and a Bilingual-Spanish Community Liaison are available to help families enroll in school and access school and community resources such as food clothing, and shelter. Provisions for services may include enrollment in the free breakfast and lunch program, OCTA bus passes, and referral to Title I tutoring, school supplies and PE clothing.
