| WHS is unique in that it has an * Agriculture department that operates on a 5 acre school farm that has facilities for cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, and chickens. There is a plant nursery and greenhouse, a fruit orchard containing persimmons, apples, peaches, and avocados, and other areas devoted to grape growing, blackberries, and field crops. This is a school within a school, combining academics with hands-on training to prepare students for careers and post-secondary training in health care. Those enrolled have opportunities for workplace learning, mentors, reduced class size, and focused counseling, in a selected health science area. |
