The Agriculture program
strives to deliver excellence in student learning through its “hands-on” approach
The farm is composed of an agriculture building which has two classrooms and a shop, a greenhouse, a shade house, a permanent pasture, several livestock units which house swine, beef, sheep, goats, and poultry projects, and growing grounds for vegetables, flower, winter wheat and pumpkins.
The Agriculture program offers its students a variety of classes. Freshmen can take Introduction to California Agriculture, to earn elective credit, or Applied Physical and Earth Science, in which they can earn physical science credit toward graduation. Sophomores can take Agriculture Biology, earning Life Science credit toward graduation. A Floriculture class is also offered for students interested in the art of floral design and marketing.

Supervised Agriculture Experience
Students can also earn elective credit toward graduation. Another class that they can take is Veterinary Science, where they can learn about veterinary practices and at the same time earn a UC or CSU elective “g” credit.
At the core of the Agriculture program are the students ability to have various Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) projects where they can gain skills related to their project areas. Some of the skills gained are record keeping, time management, project and product marketing, writing skills, money management, and student accountability. It is the students' responsibility to maintain and manage their projects. Most of the student projects are showcased at the Orange County Fair. It is an exciting time for the students involved.
