Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience.

Built on the belief that students can help students succeed, Link Crew trains junior and senior class students to be Link Crew Leaders.

As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders motivate others. They are leaders and teachers who guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school.

Link Crew begins on the day of the freshmen orientation, which helps freshmen become energized and proud to be attending Westminster High School.

In early Spring semester, possible Link Crew students are recommended by their teachers. Approximately 110 of this year's juniors and sophomores who show both traditional and nontraditional leadership skills to 'link' to the incoming freshman class are identified. The recommended students should

• Have strong communication skills
• Be willing to lead others, take risks and be positive role models
• Be responsible enough to manage a group
• Be accountable to show up throughout all phases of the program during the year
• Be dedicated, self-confident and self-directed
• Have respect for diverse ideas and personalities
• Be enthusiastic
